Welcome to Four Wings

Approach

In Expressive Arts therapy, artmaking and play are accessible and powerful tools used with simplicity in the therapeutic process to foster experiences where profound discoveries and important changes can unfold. It supports an increase in sense of aliveness, mindfulness, and authenticity.

Through Somatic Experiencing®, I help cultivate nervous system regulation, which plays a vital role in healing trauma, stress, depression, anxiety, and in supporting a fuller, more grounded engagement with life in the present moment.

I integrate these approaches, along with other complementary modalities, through a lens informed by attachment theory and the systemic social factors that shape well-being and our experience of the world. My practice is person-centered, guided by principles of anti-oppression, and oriented toward decolonization.

As an Expressive Arts Therapy & Somatic Experiencing® practitioner and facilitator, I am here to support you on your unique journey of healing and transformation.

Through a culturally sensitive approach that emphasizes the strength within each individual, my mission is to facilitate processes of transformation—from conflict to resolution, from feeling stuck to discovering new possibilities—all in service of cultivating a deeper sense of aliveness, emotional and nervous system regulation, resilience, and authenticity.

"Play is experimental; it opens up the possibilities of the world. We suffer when there is no play-space, no gap between what we are and what we can be."

About Me

Mariana Felipe (she/her) M.A. RTC

Born in Brazil, I live as an uninvited guest on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

I am an experienced expressive arts therapist, trauma counsellor, and facilitator. Drawing from both professional and lived experience, I bring curiosity, care, and commitment to supporting individuals from all walks of life -especially those who identify as migrants, women, and gender-diverse, BIPOC, neurodivergent, living with chronic pain or fatigue, and those with creative and free spirits.

I am a lover of nature and animals - a curious scientist, explorer, and artist. I move through life embracing its cyclical nature, welcoming transformation as a way to rediscover myself, and finding humility and inspiration in grief and gratitude - all in service of being more present and showing up as my most authentic self. Balancing my contemplative nature with playfulness and humor, I hold play and imagination in high regard and I am passionate about restoring the ability to play freely in all phases of life.

I honor my identity and origins as a woman of color from Brazil by continuously unlearning limiting narratives and reconnecting with ancestral knowledge and traditional ways of being. Passionate about creativity and social justice, I believe that imagining and nurturing a better world begins in our relationships - with ourselves, one another, and the land.
